Helping women in the slums fight harassment and domestic violence
Teenage girls in a slum in Mumbai, India, have come together to create an app to help women in the slums. Women Fight Back (WFB) is a personal safety application that empowers against acts of violence and abuse and helps summon aid in an emergency.
By clicking a button as soon as they sense danger, the user can send out SOS message alerts with their location to friends and family. WFB is useful in a wide range of dangerous scenarios, from domestic violence to sexual harassment to heart failure. The aim is to make communities and society safe for everyone to thrive and realise their potential.
