Providing learning opportunities for older people who are receiving care.

Learning for the Fourth Age (L4A) provides learning opportunities for older people receiving care, in their own homes, in care homes or in nursing homes in the UK. Learning later on in life can boost confidence, give residents a more positive outlook on life, and delay the onset of dementia. L4A uses multimedia to bridge this gap in learning provision, and is campaigning for the UK Care Quality Commission to consider mental stimulation as one of the minimum standards of care. L4A is lottery-funded, in association with the Daily Mail.
