The I am Alive app lets friends and loved ones know that users are alive and well following bomb blasts in Lebanon.
"I am still alive" is the message that is tweeted at the touch of a button following a bomb attack. There have been two explosions since the app was launched, and dozens of the 4,000 people who have downloaded it have used it to let loved ones know they are safe.
Egypt and Pakistan have asked for the app to be available there. An NGO has also expressed interest in the app for use when natural disasters occur.
iAmAliveVIP is another similar related app, made by the same developer, to allow key public figures to promptly issue statements in times of crisis.
