Helping analyse whether food is safe to eat for families

Over 200 diseases can be spread through the food we eat. In the US, there are over 200,000 cases of food-borne illness every day.

FoodSniffer analyses chemicals emitted by food to tell you whether it's safe to eat. The idea is that your nose can't really tell whether something's spoiled, particularly if it's meat.

The gadget uses sensors to 'smell' temperature, humidity, ammonia and other potentially dangerous organic compounds present in food.

It then sends the results of whether it's safe to eat, starting to spoil or  spoiled to a user's smartphone.
