There are not many social media campaigns that can point to such a definitive - and quickly won - impact as Greenpeace's #DetoxWave.Ā Inviting football supporters to use Vine to upload a short clip of themselves waving, the environmental organisation stitched together thousands of them in a video they sent to the head of Adidas. Asking that the company commit to stop using dangerous chemicals in manufacturing its football boots, they achieved their goal, saying: "the brand has agreed to phase out 99% of all polyflourinated chemicals (PFCs) by the end of 2017, building up to 100% by 2020." They now have their sights on Puma and Nike...
