Providing technology-based solutions for health management
Organisation URL: cell-life.org
Cell-Life provides technology-based solutions for managing health in developing countries. The organisation addresses health-related challenges, such as the distribution of anti-retroviral treatments, continuous patient monitoring and evaluation, and collection and communication of information. This is achieved through the development and use of innovative software supported by existing technologies such as mobile phones and the internet.
Cell-Life also has expertise in the preparation of health-related information and communication (IEC) materials tailored for delivery via mobile. They also design and run research studies evaluating the use of mobiles in health (mHealth), as well as scaled programmes.
Cell-Life helps to understand the unique challenges facing the development and implementation of e-health systems in the public sector in Africa. Their insights and research enable them to develop context-specific, cost-effective solutions.
Cell-Life enacts a shift toward openness, both in the open source technologies they work with, and in the system development process.
Expansion plans are bold and ambitious, and with the resources available, Cell-Life plans to continue to put innovation to work, to ultimately make a difference.
