Helping young people to achieve their ambitions through disruptive innovationBy Keyfund Federation Ltd
Ambition Lab was a three-stage research and development project running throughout 2013. It worked with young people and digital technology.
Through an experimental model that blended research, film making, public debate and a 2-day hackathon, Ambition Lab explored the provocation: 'What ingredients are needed for young people to achieve their own ambitions and solve their own challenges?'
Ambition Lab aims to create an even playing field for young people from all socio economic backgrounds, tackling inequality, improving wellbeing and enabling greater contribution to society.
Stage 1: Research - into young people’s motivation and the structures of opportunity needed to achieve their ambitions.
Stage 2: Documentary film – to inspire and inform young people, practitioners and decision makers.
Stage 3: Hackathon – a mini-hack where 150 young hackers nationwide worked together in person and virtually, via Cisco’s cutting edge video presence technology. They invented joined up digital solutions to solve this challenge.
